As avid outdoorsmen, my party of three searched for catfish guides and selected George and I’m here to tell you non believers George is for Real! Let’s face it I know there are many other reputable Guides out there and sometimes you just don’t know what you are going to get. However, we decided to give George’s Guide Service a shot and we were not disappointed.

Let me start by telling you that there are certain things that cannot be guaranteed and fishing is a lot like hunting sometimes you get your quarry and sometimes you don’t. This trip we booked with George produced the biggest catfish we have ever had on a rod and reel. We landed from 8lbs to the largest being 68lbs. In fact joking with George I asked him if he could put us on cats smaller than 30 pounds, because the first four fish we caught weighed from 42 lbs to 68lbs. These fish were caught within the first 1hr in a half.

The second day was not as productive but we still caught several large cats. Now why the second day wasn’t as productive as the other goes back to what I said earlier sometime you get them and sometimes you don’t. When we arrived back at the Marina the other guides had similar success very few catches. I would not hesitate to book again. Every once in a while there comes an event in ones life that is just aces. My fishing trip with George's Guide Service recently was just that. We made the trek to Tawakoni the night before and rented a room with Anchor Inn, enjoyed a perfect summer evening with a little grilling action. A great nights sleep and at 6:30 AM we were on the water...perhaps one of the best weather days I can remember. George's crew (Bobby) had us on the fish almost immediately, and it never stopped. By 10:30 we were back on the dock with our limit of "good eaters". We departed with heavy bags of filets. The only trophy today was the experience! My brother in-law and I fished with George on 01/31/09, we boated between 45-50 blue cats in 5 hours. I cant count how many doubles we had and one time we had four on at once!

I have fished with other guides before using the same drifting method . The difference between George and others cat guides I've been with is the little things that he does, presentation, correct weights, small floats to keep the baits from snagging and making a better presentation to the fish , keeping the bait on the hook fresh. My brother and I went out with George the morning of 8-16, we arrived at the dock around 6 a.m. and it was so foggy we couldn't tell if there was a storm rolling in or if it was just fog. We left the dock around 6:30 or so and headed out to do some cat fishing. The fog was so thick we had to look hard for the spot George wanted us to fish, but man once we dropped a line the catfish never stopped. I had to set my pole down just to get a drink of water. We had our limit and was back at the marina in 1 1/2 hours. What a blast! My brother and I have been fishing together all our lives and have never caught that many catfish at one time. Thanks again George for a great day of fishing!

I have been fishing with George several years with clients and friends. We have a clean boat, a good trip, and we always catch a lot of fish. A 4 star trip, and a lot of fun. He is a true professional guide.

We had a wonderful day on Lake Tawakoni Wednesday. George once again put us on the Cats. Our biggest fish was 37 pounds! A good catch to say the least. We released that one, and it will be bigger the next time (who will get it then?) and caught a mess more of the perfect eaters (4-10 lb range) and we all went home with a wonderful memory and a hefty bag of catfish filets for each of us. We have to say that they were awfully tasty baked up to! And fishing with George is always a learning experience teaching us the habits and traits of the catfish in Lake Tawakoni. What a bargain to fish with George! There is nothing better than a successful fishing trip with great friends and a great guide. Today we had that...and a memory for the scrapbook. We had an outstanding trip with George. My Mom and Dad (and Princess (the Dachshund) ) came in from Tucson, AZ for a day of catfish fishing. They are still raving today of how great the trip was. And just how great the catfish fishing was. Specially noted by Mom was how good George was (kudos George). My Dad never had so much fun, and still is commenting on just how tasty the cats were. Dad caught a 40-45 pound Buffalo fish, and that was a hoot for the light tackle we were using. Check out the picure in the October 2007 page. Had yet another trip with the TrophyCats crew....and we landed some excellent Cat's . Even when the others were hauling in the Striper's we brought in the biggest fish of the day! Bragging rights ...have to love it! Another great trip with the TrophyCats team! CT 8/07
We just wanted to tell our story. We have been fishing with George for a year now, many times and can't think of any time we did not catch our limit. It has been a wonderful time we will always go back. My children my husband and I have had the best time fishing with him. My son is 7 yr old and thinks George is the best. So do we!!!!!! We wish him well and if you want to catch fish FISH WITH GEORGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. He has taught my son so much about fishing. He wants to be a fisherman like him. Good luck to all that fish. It started out dark and gloomy. We were not sure we were even going to make it off the dock. However me and my fishing buddy Chris were so anxious to go I think George could hear it in our tone, and even though the weather reports did not look good we all met up at the dock at first light. George’s boat was great, plenty of seating and a very pleasant ride to our first spot, but I never expected what came next. You see Chris had been out with George before and he was prepared for him to go as quick as he did to our first fishing spot. George set us down on a nice beach, about 10 yards out from the shore, baited us up, cast out our lines, and had us reeling in fish before I knew what happened. Now I am sure it is not that easy every time out, but when George called one of his partners up on the radio and stated that we already had 18 cats in the bag I almost fell over. I mean is it possible to have this much fun before you can even wipe the sleep out of your eyes? We put at least another 10 into the boat before things started to slow down. George keep telling me that these were great eating size, but I had a feeling he wanted us to grab something bigger so we continued on. We cut quickly across the lake to where another boat in the "trophycats.com" gang was hanging out. They were catching normal size catfish and since we were hunting something else we moved on. After a few minutes we were at a very cool spot. The lake being a little lower water level than normal revealed stands of drift wood trees along side the channel where the Sabine river flows into lake Tawakoni. We pulled in between two trees and roped off there. This spot was great. The wind was in our face and the catfish were big. Yep, this is the spot were we climbed up to our grand total of 45 cats. We were back to the dock before I realized how late in the day it already was, and what a great day, man time flies. We both left with large overflowing ziplock bags of fish fillets (yes fillets, I can’t believe George could cut fish up that fast), split two ways between Chris and I and we had enough fish to feed an army. I hit work the next day, Tuesday, a bit behind in my work, but nothing could take the smile from my face. It is amazing what an awesome feeling of joy a great day of fishing can bring into your life. I have to thank God for not spilling a drop of rain on us and letting us have such a wonderful day out on the lake with George, trophy cat huntsman, and supplier of much, much more.
